Eagles Hope
Having just written a post on Phillies Pessimism, I thought I’d counterbalance that with a post on Eagles hope for the 2008-2009 season.
I don’t think that there can be any doubt that this Eagles team is better than the Eagles team that played last year. We have a deeper, more talented, more experienced defense than last year. We’ve added a lightning fast special teams player who will give the Eagles better field position and maybe even get us a few easy points. That same player has added depth, speed, grit and hands to the WR position on offense. This is the first year in a while that I’ve felt good about our WR core.
Westbrook is at the peak of his career. McNabb looks like he’s recovered from injury and is ready to go full-on.
Sure, we still have to worry about McNabb’s short-pass game, and his consistency, and his tendency to not to hit receivers in stride. But… there is reason to be hopeful as we enter a new Eagles’ season.
