Let one loose in the 9th.
The Good: Aaron Rowand is disgustingly good. Iguchi continues to perform.
The Bad: Moyer starting to look really really old. Howard getting 4 strikeouts. I think he’s putting too much pressure on himself to outperform from last year (which I think is physically impossible.)
We all knew the Phillies were gonna lose in the first inning. Bases loaded no out and they can’t score a run. The one run they did score didn’t even count because it was a wild pitch and they didn’t really earn it. Then in the 5th when Howard was thrown out at third, I think he just got a little jealous because everyone else on the team has wheels except for him. But whatever the reason for him being greedy, that was a huge rally killer. The most upsetting part of the game was staying up to watch the entire game and then just handing it to the Cubs. I’m not upset at Werth for not making the catch because that was a tough play and he was inches from making it. I just wish Myers would have at least let the Cubs get a hit to win the game instead of handing it to them on a silver platter.
I think I’m happy that I won’t be able to watch Lohse’s start today due to the 2 o’clock start time. Grant it, a lot of his loses came from a lack of run support, I just think he’s another Adam Eaton on this staff. Sean Marshall is coming off a few pretty good starts in which he allowed 2 or less runs in all 4 of them. All we can hope for now is a split so that maybe they can redeem themselves before taking on another good team in the Brewers.
Last start: W / 6.0 / 1 ER / 6 H / 1 BB / 3 SO / Cincinnati
Last words . . . I wish we could play the Pirates and Nationals all year long.
