Take my bullpen, please.
The Good: The 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th. It was good to see that they didn’t just give up after allowing a 6 spot to the Reds. At least the offense on this team has a backbone. Maybe they can share it with the bullpen. Moyer pitching 6 great innings. Dobbs going 3 for 3. Good Lord he is an amazing player.
The Bad: The bullpen, the bullpen, and the bullpen. Moyer pitching one bad inning. Does Howard know that there are alternatives hitting homeruns and striking out?
Ok, I admit it, I failed. I couldn’t stay awake through the rain delay. One reason was because I was exhausted. The second was because I knew what this Phillies bullpen was capable of and decided that sleep was more important. When will the Phillies learn that they got lucky with Geary’s performance last year. I’m starting to get fed up with him constantly sucking. I’m almost at the point that I’d rather have Mesa in to blow the lead instead of Geary always doing it.
All I have to say is that they better win Thursday. If they lose a series to the worst team in baseball. It’s gonna be a bloodbath against New York as they’re gonna be looking for revenge. The Phillies are gonna need to build some momentum if they don’t want to get embarrassed.
As for tonight’s matchup, I could write the same thing about Eaton as I did last time. What the hell are we to expect from him? I suggest keeping your expectations low. Matt Belisle for the Reds is your average pitcher. With a 5-5 average and a 4.73 ERA, one should be expected to score some runs. However we all know how this game will probably go. Eaton throws a quality start . . . Phillies have the lead . . . Bullpen comes in and _____?
Last start: ND / 6.0 / 1 ER / 4 H / 4 BB / 1 SO / Oakland
Last words . . . I am so happy that Charlie has some balls and is sitting the $14 million player.
