Blah, pretty much sums up the game.
The Good: Obviously the one run of the game for the Phils, Howard’s homerun. The Phillies outfield throwing out another baserunner.
The Bad: Nothing new, 10 LOB. Jason Michaels went 2 for 3 (the pitches must’ve looked like police officers cause he sure was hitting them). Our great and powerful King Cole was dethroned.
Everyone’s allowed to have a bad game, right? Well not if your Cole Hamels. He’s the only one I feel confident in stopping a losing streak. When he loses I know the team is ready for a freefall because they don’t have a good chance in winning for the next 4 games.
That Aaron Fultz sure looked good out there today. I wish the Phillies could have a reliable arm like that in their bullpen.
Looks like tomorrow we have two substitues going at it. Kendrick filling in for Freddy Garcia and Stanford filling in for Jeremy Sowers. This gives us very little on what to expect for the game. It’ll probably come down to a slugfest with two very hitting friendly teams. I hope Burrell gets the start because I can’t wait until his batting average falls below .200. It seems that the excitement that came from the Mets sweep is starting to wear off. The only good news I can offer is that two of the next three series are against sub-.500 teams in the Reds and Astros. However this can become bad news as we all know how the Phillies do against sucky teams.
Last words . . . keep voting for Utley in the All-Star game.

Yippie, Ryan Howard hit a homerun. So what?!?!?! Homeruns are nice, but I’d like him to make more contact instead of striking out every 3 plate appearances. A sac fly in the 1st would have been nice for example…but nope…whiff!
I was okay with Aaron Fultz being left go because I thought Gillick was going to bring in a better lefty reliever…instead Patty G assembled a bullpen full of garbage.
One of our reliable relievers from last year is sucking big time this year…Gas-Can Geary. The man’s era is up to 5.06 with a crap-filled 11.12 era in June.
I hate this team sometimes!
