Hey Garcia, take your $10 million, stick it up your ass, and go to hell. Actually I’d prefer if he got surgery, decided to resign with the Phillies, and had a stellar next year, but this is Philadelphia afterall.
Number 9. Gotta admit, in that first inning I panicked. What if our ace was a nut job and the back-to-back-to-back in New York was gonna stay in his head and ruin his career. But the next 7 innings reminded me that he is our team’s ACE. Would it be outrageous to think that he might possibly start for the National League in the Allstar Game?
Chase Utley is God. Greg Dobbs is a close second. Both of them knocked in 2 RBI’s (2 of Utley’s 4) with 2 outs. Those are the runs that win games and that the Phillies rarely get.
I really liked when Victorino stole second off of Contreras. Even though they didn’t have many more opportunities since the Phils were up by 5 most of the game, I like when him and Rollins run. They are rarely being thrown out and are making it easier for Utley and Howard to stack up their RBI numbers. A huge part of it is because of Davey Lopes and I’d like to compliment him on turning this team into a running team. Now if he could only teach the team some BASIC FUNDAMENTALS while running these same bases, we’d be set.
I realized while at the game today that I really don’t enjoy going to the games. I mean I absolutely LOVE the stadium, the way the grass/dirt looks, seeing the players upclose. I guess what I hate about being at the games, are all the idiots that surround me. Whether it’s the 14 year-old behind me trying to impress his friends by trying to be funny the entire game by saying the dumbest jokes in the world. Thinking that he is on a first names basis with all the players; asking Howard to throw you a bat is possibly one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Possibly more annoying are know-it-all fans that actually don’t know-it-all. The ones that say “that balls gone” off of the bat when it results in a shallow pop up to left field. Or say things like “Victorino is a fast runner.” NO SHIT!!! Throw in $10 for parking and the traffic, and the fact that I have to pay $53 for a hot dog, soda, and peanuts, and I’d much rather watch the game from my couch. But there is nothing like seeing a game in person.
Last words . . . is it me, or has there been very little talk about firing Charlie lately?
