Sports… the Philadelphia way

Same story, different year.

I’d like to apologize for not being able to write a blog on the next Phillies lose.  Excuse me, I mean game.  I have prior engangements that will take me far away from a computer.  Actually, tomorrow the Phillies might not lose, after all they are going up against a righty.

If the Phillies have any chance on making the playoffs, something big has to happen.  A certain leader has to be fired.  A certain player(s) has to be sent down or traded. Something that makes the players realize that they are UNDERACHEIVING.    However neither is very likely.  On paper, this team has a chance at the wildcard.  But what doesn’t show on paper is the team’s ability to play fundamentally.  While I like to argue that these are professional players and that they should know how to do certain things (ex. run the bases), sometimes they nee to be reminded.

I no longer know what to expect coming into each game.  The team that swept the Braves or the team that was swept by the Diamondbacks.  One way or another, I’ll be ok with another sweep as long as Bonds doesn’t hit a homerun and the Yankees keep losing.  But a sweep is unlikey as the great and powerful Hamels will be pitching.  Hopefully that’s one win.  Zito and the Giants will probably take the last game.  This means the other two are up for grabs.  If the Phillies are going to start winning, Burrell needs to stay on the bench.  Dobbs needs to keep playing.  Hamels needs to pitch everyday.  And lastly, Bonds should be plunked everytime he comes up to bat.

Last words . . . Coste > Barajas, “Anyone” > Helms

The Phillies disgust me! I love ‘em, but they piss me off and break my heart.
