Dumbest team in baseball?
Just when I was about to throw my TV remote against the wall, the Phillies showed a little fire. Overall it’s a good thing they won, but what the hell is going on with the team. It seems like its not an official game until someone has a brain lapse. Wednesday = Barajas and Dobbs. Thursday = Barajas. Today = Dobbs.
The only difference between Dobbs and Barajas is that Dobbs made up for his mistake. That 2-run RBI single may have saved him from being put on the shelf for quite some time. Meanwhile Barajas gives up runs then does nothing at the plate. All the wins look the same, but there still needs to be someone to blame over these mistakes. But who do you blame?
The players? Makes the most sense. Barajas is the only one to blame for being afraid of some contact (regardless of the fact that he is wearing padding!) Barajas is also the one to blame for trying to tag a sliding runner with one hand. Dobbs is to blame for throwing home when all the team needed was outs. Dobbs is also to blame for not being able to see another human being running past him 6 feet away.
Can you blame the manager? I guess. It is the coaches jobs to make sure the players are paying attention and know what to do with the ball, but then again, this is PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL. This isn’t tee-ball when the coaches have to remind the players what to do with the ball. You can place some of the blame on Manuel because the Phils aren’t playing the smartest of baseball. But these are grown men out there, they should be able to think for themselves.
Enough with the negatives. Rollins seems to be getting hot again. Howard had good at-bats throughout the game. And Moyer may have a career in hitting with his 2-hit performance.
Before I end my very first blog, I’d like to criticize Edgar Renteria. I know it sucks to strike out, especially on a called strike which isn’t a strike, but you need to realize the situation. Being a team’s 3-hole hitter, you cannot get thrown out in the 4th inning, especially with your team behind. You were called out on strikes, no matter what you say, you’re going to be out. Suck it up and keep yourself in the game!
Last words . . . Bring back Coste.

I choose to blame Manuel. He’s not entirely at fault, but I can’t stand that bumbling backwood bumpkin.
Barajas = 6′2″ 230 lbs. (plus pads, and with that gut, 230 seems light)
Hanley Ramirez = 6′3″ 195 lbs. (looks more like 165)
Why is Barajas worried about getting hit by Todd Pinkston when he’s as big as Dhani Jones?
There are too many bone head plays to excuse the coaching staff.
