Phillies Get Some Gritty Wins

I don’t know about you but I’m prone to criticize the Phillies.  If there’s a glaring pattern with the Phils over the last few seasons part of it has to do with their inability to 1) close games out 2) win the close games and 3) win after being down in the 7th.

You know what I’m talking about… it’s the whole “why stay up for another disappointment” kind of thing.

But I’ve got to be fair.  The pattern has been broken in enough games over the last few weeks for me to start taking notice.   They’ve been scoring runs late.  They’ve been holding on to leads.  Hell, they came back to win against the best baseball team in the league right now.

So what do you think?  Is this team starting to show us something that previous teams didn’t have or is it only a mirage?
