Sporting News Gives Eagles an A for Draft

While it was unorthodox by all standards, it seems that some publications are giving the Eagles credit for a stellar draft. Notice that they are the only team that had a very late first round pick, yet placed above an A-

The Sporting news has this to say about the Eagles draft:

After S Brandon Meriweather got snatched away by New England, the Eagles traded out of Round 1 and took QB Kevin Kolb, Donovan McNabb’s heir apparent. They nailed their next two picks, DE Victor Abiamiri and OLB Stewart Bradley, who should start as rookies.

Whether this is just pop-pseudo-analysis or not, it’s interesting that the Birds are already getting some props despite 1) trading their first round pick and 2) picking a QB as their first pick in the 2nd round.

How can the Sporting News write that Abiamiri and Bradley will start as rookies? Bradley beating out Dhani Jones and Cocong could happen, but Abiamri at DE has zero chance unless there’s significant injuries.
