Urbina to the pen
So much for bullpen help. Former Philadelphia Phillie Ugueth Urbina was sentenced to 14 years in a Venezuelan prison today.
And for what? A couple unauthorized visitors to his ranch decide to bathe in Urbina’s swimming pool. Urbina decides what better way to convince them to leave than to pour gasoline on them and light them on fire. Throw in a couple machete swings for good luck. Now his actions may have been a little rash, but I’d be willing to bet they sure were effective. I may have to try his technique next time someone knocks on my front door asking me to sign something.
Well, so much for a return from Urbina. In closing, I leave you with a scouting report that I found very relevant:
Urbina was a certifiable flamethrower. Let’s hope he returns to baseball some day.
Well put, on so many levels.

Urbina greets a visitor at his Venezuelan home.

PHillies should get Mike Venafro 0.00 ERA in 10 games this spring. Twins don’t have room for him
I’m not familiar with Venafro - just looked him up - he was pretty effective early in his career.
