News of the Day
Ryan Fowler, the undrafted free agent linebacker from that powerhouse by the name of Duke reneged on his verbal commitment to the Eagles and decided to sign a restricted offer sheet from Tennessee instead. He probably decided he’s rather be a starter than an insurance policy for a guy with bad knees.
Although it was reported that Fowler signed an offer sheet with the Eagles, he had, in reality only reached a verbal agreement with the Birds. Word is bond. Dag.
In reality, who really gives a crap. Fowler’s reported deal had him making 4 million bucks next year. In comparison, Donte’ Stallworth’s deal with the Patriots, which is essentially a one-year deal, will pay him 3.6 million in 2007 (Stallworth is scheduled to make $11 million in 2008 – yeah right).
Is it just me or wouldn’t it be nice to have Stallworth in Philadelphia at $3.6 million for 2007, so the team could take their time figuring out what they have in Hank Baskett and Jason Avant?
Here comes another wideout via the draft (assuming Kevin Curtis doesn’t sign), and that wideout will be…………….Dwayne Jarrett…….but only in the 2nd round, if he drops Winston Justice style.

The question of the day:
How much company time will you waste this week researching/watching the NCAA tournament?
A. Less than 5 hours (1 hour a day)
B. 5 to 10 hours
C. 10 to 15 hours
D. Work? I have a chance to win money via gambling, and until I can see this thing through, my job comes second.
See, I did the smart thing. I volunteered to be the pool administrator for my office and all our satellite offices, and as such, the NCAA pool becomes an official work-related duty.

Prospect J.A. Happ got smoked yesterday in his first grapefruit league start against the Astros.
The line:
2 IP, 6 Hits, 6 Runs, 3 BBs. Ouch. The good news is Matt Smith pitched 2 scoreless innings to drop his spring ERA to 16.62.

Gargano was saying yesterday that after the Patriots offered Stallworth the deal he eventually signed, he never came back to the Eagles with it. Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know….but it was also accidentally revealed on yesterday’s show that Gargano knew Stallworth was in the substance abuse program weeks ago.
It was reported in the Inquirer as well that Rosenhaus didn’t come back to the Eagles. Who knows if the Eagles would have matched of if they already told Rosenhaus that the offer was final, but it does seem shady.
Gotta love the morning show.
I’m glad they didn’t sign him. He has size and work ethic… great, but apparantly he’s terrible in coverage, changing directions, and overall lack of speed. He’s just a glorified special teams player. Now the Eagles could use their 1st round pick for their middle linebacker for the future and use this year to groom him to replace Trotter down the line.
They’ll need to sign Kevin Curtis though who will be a solid number 2 receiver to start next to Reggie Brown (or maybe I’m overbias for decent receivers who are white dudes). If they can’t get the Curtis deal done, hopefully Dwayne Jarret slips Winston Justice Style, haha – great article, I was dying the entire time reading it.
