Mikell extended
On the heels of the A.J. Feeley extension, the Birds have also decided to extend safety Quintin Mikell. Mikell received a 4-year deal. Numbers have not been disclosed.

Mikell has proven to be an excellent special teams player for the Birds and started to get more of a look at the safety position at the end of the year. In fact, Mikell started over Sean Considine in the final game of the year against the Atlanta Falcons. Although the starters played sparingly in that contest, the lineup to begin the game was the usual starting squad, sans Considine. Who knows any of this is meaningful, its just interesting to note.

Another good move by the Birds. Management is like a smooth operating algorithm (I’m a programmer;-)
The key to this offseason is going to be how they beef up the defense as a unit.
