Eagles sign punter
Although it hasn’t been acknowledged by the squad, the Eagles have signed Saverio Rocca as a punting prospect. Who is Saverio Rocca you ask? He’s an Australian rules football player who routinely kicks his trademark “torpedo balls” 60 meters downfield.
Here’s a link to an interview he gave to Australian news about the Birds signing (purportedly a 3-year deal).
And a youtube tribute video……

Wow. It’s a shame this guy only wants to punt, he has a skill set that seems to go beyond just punting.
Yeah I say he should be a quintuple threat guy.

Nice. But this is Saverio’s brother Anthony (at least #23 for the Magpies is)
I think the clip features both brothers.
Think Ben Graham of the NY Jets, but bigger and a stronger leg…
It’s a mixture of both brothers. Antony number 23, Sav 36 for Collingwood, 26 for Kangoaroos. Main reason Sav got traded was because anthony was thought to have more ability. Anthony is younger (Just turned 30). He is more athletic than Sav, not quite as heavily built. He can actually knick further than Sav, but is nowhere near as accurate. He’s probably got another 3 years max. in AFL,then look out NFL. Both of them grew up supporting Collingwood as kids, so they have lived the dream.
