Sports… the Philadelphia way

Flyers Beat Pens, Within 3 Points of Rangers

The Flyers took on the Pittsburgh Penquins last night at the Wachovia Center. The Flyers took a 3-0 lead during the 2nd period thanks to goals by Simon Gagne (45), Brian Savage (9), and Joni Pitkanen (13). The Flyboys couldn’t maintain their lead and allowed the Pens to get back into the game and even tie up the score. With the score 3-3, the Flyers got the game-winnner from rookie Jeff Carter on the powerplay. So that put the Flyers point total up to 97 with 4 games to play. The Rangers were defeated by the Islanders in New York City. The Flyers take on the Rangers Saturday at the Wachovia Center.

So the situation stands:
3 seed) Rangers – 100 points 3 Games Left
4 seed) Sabres – 102 Points 4 Games Left
5 seed) Flyers – 97 Points 4 Games Left
6 seed) Devils – 95 Points 3 Games Left

With the playoffs beginning April 21st, I think it’s time for Flyers fans to get excited for the postseason.

I think this will do the job.
