Sports… the Philadelphia way

WordPress 2 Authors & Users Admin Lockup Fix

Download Now

Ok. So this has nothing to do with Philadelphia Sports, but I thought I’d post it for the benefit of the WordPress blog community.

One of the blogs that I run has thousands of users. If you’re the administrator of a WordPress blog, then you’ll know that ALL the users get listed on a single page. For some, especially users of IE (internet explorer) this causes a lock-up. For others, the page just takes forever to load.

The page at issue can be found by going to WordPress Dashborad -> Users -> Authors & Users

As a quick fix to the problem, I’ve spread out the users in blocks of 250. So you’ll see a maximum of 250 users per page. As far as I can tell, this eliminates the locking and slow load times.

The solution isn’t very elegant and leaves a few design issue desiderata lingering in the mist. Nonetheless, I’m providing it here for anyone’s free usage. By downloading these files, you agree that I’m not responsible for any problems that you may encounter as a result.
