Sixers Face Biggest Game of Season So Far
Riding high on a four game win streak, the Sixers encounter what may be their biggest game of the season thus far against the newly rejuvinated, and champion contender Miami Heat. The Heat and Pistons are typically considered the two contending teams out of the East. If the Sixers can step it up tonight, they may get that confidence boost that any team needs in order to overachieve. And let’s not pretend. The Sixers need to overachieve to have any chance at a championship.
The four game win streak has been bittersweet. In the last game, the Sixers barely squeaked by a 4-17 Atlanta team. Granted, Atlanta has been playing well and giving good teams a run for their money. But that game wasn’t the only issue. In the previous game against the Timberwolves, the Sixers were unable to hold onto a late game lead (sound familiar?) and ended up winning in OT. Sure, it is encouraging that they are at least winning these close games, but championship teams need to close out games with confidence and the Sixers ain’t doing that just yet.
