Sixers secure first place against Nets

I still can’t get excited about this Sixers team. Why? Because they aren’t consistent. That’s it.

When I get behind a team, I want to know who I’m cheering for but with these Sixers different players seem to show up on any given night. One night Iggy is great, the next night he doesn’t show up. One quarter, Korver is popping threes, the next quarter he’s hesitating to shoot. One minute Dalembert is blocking shots, the next minute he’s screwing up his defensive assignment.

Seriously. I want a team that is going to play well consistently. I want a team besides Iverson. I want a team that improves throughout the season.

But I don’t see any of this happening.

They’ve won two straight now. They’ve secured first place in a poor division. Iverson is hitting new highs with his scoring. But none of this excites me.

I want to see a team that consistently has five or six guys in double figures. I want a team where Korver gets 8-10 looks from 3pt land a game. I want a team where Iggy gets his share of offensive looks (only three shots last night!). I want a team where Webber takes it to the hole more often than he fades away. The list goes on and on.

Let’s see a consistent, steady product and then we can get excited.
