Sports… the Philadelphia way

Flyers Win At Very End

With three minutes to go, it looked like the Flyers were destined for a 2nd straight loss. But with less than one minute left in the game, Forsberg scored his first goal of the season and the Flyers took the game into overtime, eventually winning it on Pitkanen’s top left shelf shot which passed by the fantastic Florida goalie, Roberto Luongo.

The Flyers were trailing almost all game. They found themselves down 1-0, 3-1 and 4-2. But this is the new NHL, right? Well, that could be part of it. But the Flyers scored four of their five goals in this game with even strength, so it definitely wasn’t the power play that helped them (Florida, on the other hand) scored three of their four goals on powerplay.

Has hockey ever been as exciting to watch? In the past, it was rare to see such a comeback, but now it seems to happen every other game or so. I like it.

Kudos to Forsberg for his first goal. This Forsberg-Gagne line is a beautiful thing to witness. When Gagne scores a goal you can bet it was off a pass from Forsberg. He threads the needle like no one else.
