Ryan Howard Powers Phils Past Giants
Ryan Howard went got 4 hits on 5 at bats, helping the Phils on their way to a massive 16 hit, 10 run pummelling of the San Francisco Giants. Incredible offensive production only a night after being shut out (the lack of consistency is killing me!)
Padilla looked great, again, and is starting to convince me that he’s the real deal coming down the pennant chase stretch. He didn’t walk a single batter in eight innings.
With the Phillies win and subsequent losses by Houston, Florida, Atlanta and Washington, the Phils move, once again, into the Wildcard lead. Here’s hoping that they build a little cushion over the next week or two.
