BirdTown: Philadelphia season begins
Alrighty. Philadelphia is now officially in season as of Friday, July 29th at 5pm. Here in BirdTown, nothing could be better than a reminder of things to come. Football season begins…now. No one is happier than those of us who run Philly Sports Net. The Phillies, Flyers, Sixers…they’re all fun, but they ain’t what Philadelphia’s about. We bleed green in Philly. So let the bleedin’ begin.
The Eagles were able to sign all eleven draft picks before the beginning of camp. That’s pretty remarkable. Matt McCoy was the last to sign, leaving it to the last minute before agreeing to a five year deal. On Wednesday, Reggie Brown signed to a five year deal.
Jerome McDougle was shot in the abdomen Thursday evening during a robbery (he was not the one doing the robbing!). McDougle is in stable condition and looks like he’ll be alright.
