Flyers say Adios to LeClair and Amonte
The Philadelphia Flyers have departed ways with longtime player and fan favorite John LeClair, ending the 10 year LeClair era. It’s too bad they could never win the Cup while LeClair was still with them. He’ll be missed sorely in the hearts of fans, though this is probably the right decision for the Flyers to make. The last few years, LeClair’s play has declined and his list of injuries has grown. He was due 9 million this coming year ($6.84 after the agreed reduction). Along with the loss of Amonte, this gives the Flyers close to 11 million extra dollars to work with rookies and free agents under the new salary cap. Hopefully this is a move in the direction of “young blood” for a team that has often tried to use established veterans, unsuccessfully, to buy its way to the Stanley Cup.

the flyers without leclair is like coffee without sugar. you can learn to live with it, but its going to be bitter.
LeClairless Flyers? For someone like me who’s only known the Flyers with LeClair, this is almost as bad as it would be if they renamed the team or something.
