Phillies Season Begins
The Phillies season starts on Monday. When it comes to Philadelphia sports, the Phillies have been the most difficult to get excited about, considering that they haven’t even made the post season for 12 years (1993). In the off-season, their major acquisition was pitcher John Lieber. Whether Lieber and new manger Charlie Manuel can lift the Phillies out of mediocrity is still anyone’s guess. If not, major changes need to happen in the organization (read: fire Ed Wade).
The Phillies take on the Washington Nationals (former Montreal Expos) on Monday 3pm. Let’s hope they start off on the right foot.
